One Night Stand is a full movie online 2016 Hindi thriller film written by Bhavani Iyer and directed by Jasmine D'Souza. It features Sunny Leone, Nyra Banerjee and Tanuj Virwani in the lead roles.
he one interesting thing in this entire rather tame movie with the most abrupt end ever is the question that Sunny Leone asks of Tanuj with whom she has doen the deed – “Why is it ok for a man to have a one-night stand and not a woman? Why is he seen as cool and she seen as a slut?” What makes it even more interesting is that she is wearing cool cowboy style boots with it. The question would have had greater impact if she had added given us more expression and passion with it but well, you can’t have everything. Even in a one-night stand. That’s just being plain greedy and good girls don’t do greedy.
So Urvil (the name is a but weird. Made me think of towns like Orville and Farmville, but sorry, I digress) is a successful event manager with a wife he loves dearly. He meets a beautiful woman at an event in Phuket and has a one night stand with her. It leaves him totally obsessed with her. Things turn dicey when he finds out her true identity
The movie would actually have worked well as a short. But we can’t have that as a launch vehicle for Tanuj Virwani or as a showcase of Sunny’s talents so it is stretched really thin over an hour and a half. The whole one-night stand episode itself doesn’t take up too much time and then there is so much filling up to do. We are treated to scenes of him jogging every day, his wife chopping onions and some office scenes where his plump secretary is shown in unflattering clothes and Urvil declares to a newcomer “Never have an attractive secretary. Its spells disaster for your career”. Eww. There is also a pointless item song only there to let Sunny dance and to show her in a nude body suit behind a leopard spot screen. You get the drift
To be fair, the people in Urvil's life are shown very realistically. His friends, his wife, colleagues are all pretty convincing. Sunny’s family is as artificial and plastic as her except for Vijayendra Ghatge who looks too healthy to qualify as a sick father- in- law who need to go to the doctor urgently. I guess it is the DIrector's failing and Tanuj's inexperience which makes the descent into obessesion and stalking a non- starter. Where it could get nasty it's just polite and that in a movie like this spells disaster.
Tanuj Virwani is quite self- assured and has the boy- next- door charm about him. Sunny looked a bit stout somehow. She wears awesome white lingerie in the crucial scene and that was the highlight for me. Her expressions need to venture beyond ‘ecstacy’ ‘blank’ and ‘distress’ but I guess she is trying. Nyra Bannerjee as Urvil’s wife is sweet and Ninad Kamat as Urvil’s friend David turns in a rock solid performance.
One Night stand can be seen on fast forward on TV. You can pause at the white lingerie for aesthetic purposes. I look forward to seeing Tanuj in other movies and Sunny in a nice music video. Avoid.
